The lifespan of human hair extensions primarily depends on the application method, hair quality, and daily care, generally ranging from 1 to 3 months, with some well-maintained methods lasting up to 4 months.
The lifespan varies depending on the application method:
Braided Hair Extensions (Cornrow Extensions)
These offer the highest durability and longest lifespan, typically lasting 2.5–4 months. Because the extensions are braided and bound to the natural hair, they are less likely to fall out. However, as the natural hair grows, the roots will gradually move down, requiring regular visits to the salon for tightening.
These last 2–3 months. These methods use smaller connectors, resulting in less pulling on the scalp. However, the nano-silicone rings and crystal lines may loosen slightly with daily brushing and washing, and the connectors will become noticeably visible as the natural hair grows, requiring timely removal or reapplication.
These have the shortest lifespan, generally 1–2 months. The double-sided tape loses its adhesiveness due to scalp oil and frequent washing, making them prone to falling out and unsuitable for long-term wear.
